Bringing the LP12’s performance to new heights, Linn has released the Klimax Radikal reference power supply, featuring an updated aesthetic with beautifully machined casework that matches the current Klimax line. Substantial sonic improvements are achieved through exceptional electrical and mechanical isolation, powered by a custom-designed Utopik supply and an enhanced chassis. 

The Utopik maximizes performance by using separate, self-regulating output rails for motor control and the Urika phono stage. This critical isolation prevents electrical noise and power spikes from the motor from bleeding into the Urika supply, guaranteeing a clean, stable power source for both components. 

Critical to Radikal’s performance is its enhanced mechanical isolation. The enclosure is machined from three solid aluminum pieces, tipping the scales at around 14kg. This heavy, rigid structure, supported by high-mass stainless steel feet with vibration-damping inserts, provides maximum protection against external interference. 

The Keel SE is the latest evolution of Linn’s top-tier LP12 sub-chassis. The original Keel revolutionized performance in 2006 with its precision single-piece design, becoming intrinsic to the Klimax LP12. With the new SE, that performance standard has been raised once more. 

Linn significantly upgraded the Keel SE using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This revolutionary technology allowed engineers to evaluate and overcome the limitations of previous sub-chassis designs, yielding a superior result by combining cutting-edge virtual prototyping with enhanced in-house machining. 

On Saturday 11th October we hosted an event showcasing the new Radikal and Keel upgrades featuring special guest host Gilad Tiefenbrun, the visionary Managing Director of Linn products.

Introducing, Klimax Solo 500.  

Linn has completely re-engineered their most successful amplifier, the Klimax Solo, to create the Klimax Solo 500. Every cubic millimeter within its solid-machined enclosure has been optimised, resulting in a superior upgrade over its predecessor in every aspect, all whilst maintaining a compact form. 

The Solo 500 seamlessly integrates Adaptive Bias Control with an advanced hybrid cooling matrix and intelligent fan management. This high-performance combination delivers a class AB amplifier that even when under demanding condition, will operate silently and without thermal issues. 

Adaptive Bias Control is Linn’s groundbreaking in-house technology. 

Traditional Class AB amplifiers require a precisely set bias current in their output stage to avoid crossover distortion. However, this initial manual setting often deviates over time due to manufacturing inconsistencies, temperature changes during operation, and component degradation, resulting in the bias current drifting from its optimal level. This drift leads to increased and more noticeable transistor distortion throughout the amplifier’s life. 

Linn’s Adaptive Bias Control solves this problem. The Klimax Solo 500 automatically determines and applies the optimal bias current in real-time by continuously measuring, sampling, and digitising the current to each of its eight output transistors. An FPGA processor then calculates the exact required bias and simultaneously implements a digital control loop to maintain the ideal bias current for the transistors. 

The Klimax Solo 500 features a brand-new hybrid cooling matrix, a thermal management system which is designed to adapt to the amplifier’s demands, ensuring the system remains cool and quiet. 

All internal electronics mount upside-down onto a hard-anodized aluminum sub-chassis with a thermal plate. This highly conductive unit draws heat away from the electronics, isolated from the amp’s main casing. 

A network of machined fines adorns the thermal plate. These precisely channeled fins which were designed and optimised using sophisticated simulation software, form a complex network of channels across the plate’s surface. 

The Solo 500’s hybrid cooling system is boosted by an optimised Utopik power supply. Its auto-voltage rails dynamically adjust power output to match the audio signal and volume, only delivering what’s needed. This intelligent approach minimises unnecessary energy production. 

Combining tradition with innovation, Linn has created a fitting successor to the original Solo. The Klimax Solo 500 is a highly capable amplifier, providing reference-grade performance in a surprisingly compact design.

Introducing, the 150, 119 and Selekt DSM: Classic Hub.

Linn’s 119 is a modern and high-performance compact loudspeaker; 150 is its larger, floor-standing sibling. Both all-new Linn passive speaker models are energetic and refined.

Their goal for the 119 and 150 was to create fundamentally entertaining loudspeakers that would play any source material equally well, in a refined and sophisticated manner. Both models are fitted with premium drive units which are mounted at the very front of the baffle, with no grille, to minimise occlusion and improve excursion.

The rear-ported design for the 119 delivers high performance bass, whilst the bass augmentation filter further improves performance when fed from a Linn DSM.

The 150 sports down-firing ports, which produce impactful and omnidirectional bass performance.

Both models feature low-order crossovers which have been designed for signal purity and, as a result, lend the speakers to speed and dynamism.

With 119 and 150 having 2- and 3-way designs respectively, it is now both easier and more attainable than ever to upgrade from passive to the extraordinary performance of Linn’s Exakt technology.

119 and 150 are available in Satin Black, White, Walnut, or Oak veneered finish. Optional black or silver, mild-steel pedestal stands are available for mounting 119 speakers.

This upated version of the Selekt DSM: Classic Hub enhances the overall quality of the Selekt DSM lineup whilst maintaining the cartridge-based modularity and compatibility of its predecessor.

The Classic Hub features an eye-catching central control dial containing hidden LEDs that shine through to indicate volume.  An array of six machined stainless-steel buttons for one-touch access to inputs, playlists or albums.

A high-performance, integrated, analogue-to-digital conversion stage which accepts anything from turntables to CD players and a dedicated RCA output providing bass reinforcement to a subwoofer, ensures you get impeccable sound quality from anything you connect. There is also an integrated headphone amp with 1/4″ jack output for personal listening sessions.
